Atletico Madrid U.S.A. Premier Soccer Club is a competitive youth soccer club located on the beautiful Central Coast of California. Atletico Madrid, USA Soccer Club draws players from Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez, Lompoc, Orcutt, Santa Maria, Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Atascadero, Templeton and Paso Robles. The club contains both girl and boy teams that participate in the Coast Soccer League, the Central Coast Soccer League and top level competitive tournaments nation wide.

Each individual team, depending on the trainer assigned, has a individual pay structure. Some Atletico Madrid teams have no training fee and some require monthly dues.

Atletico Madrid, U.S.A. Premier Soccer Club is a member league of California Youth Soccer Association - South (Cal South) and US Club Soccer.

New Team Tryouts!
Atletico Madrid, USA Soccer Club will be having tryouts for a new girls under 16 team. The tryouts will be on May 29th and 31st, 4:30pm - 6:30pm at Santa Maria Sunrise Park. In order to play for this team you must have been born after August 1, 1991. The team will compete in the Central Coast Soccer League and competitive tournaments throughout the state. The team will be trained and coached by a professional trainer!

April:

Under 14 Atletico Madrid Premier Girls Soccer Team Wins California Cup while two others take 2nd!
The under 14 Atletico Madrid girls soccer team won the prestigious US Club Soccer California Cup this past weekend while the under 18 and under 16 Madrid teams took second place.

In the semi finals, the under 14 team defeated LAFC in Penalty kicks 5-3 and in the finals a goal by Ashley Roese (Arroyo Grande) turned out to be enough as Madrid defeated Claremont Stars 1-0. Cheyanne Rodriguez (Arroyo Grande HS) and Shannon Reese (Santa Maria) split time in the goal.

The under 16 girls defeated Stampede Black 1-0 in the semi-finals with a second half goal by Sami Marquez (Cabrillo HS). In the finals, Madrid was defeated 2-1 by the Slammers (Huntington Beach), who are considered as one of the top 10 club teams in the entire country. The lone Madrid goal was scored by Karlee Owens (Arroyo Grande HS). Brandy Muchado (Lompoc HS) was the goalie for the entire tournament.

The under 18 girls defeated Real California FC 4-3 in penalty kicks to reach the finals. In the championship, Madrid was defeated by LAFC 1-0. Jessica Mortola (San Luis Obispo HS) was the goalie for the entire weekend where she gave up only 4 goals in 5 games. The loss was the first for the Madrid u18's since the start of club season in February. This was also the 2nd year in a row that the Madrid 88's (u18) reached the finals of the California Cup.

The Madrid u14 teams next tournament is the CVU Tournament of Champions in Thousand Oaks on Memorial Day weekend. The Madrid u16 girls will participate in their 3rd consecutive premier level tournament by taking part in the Eclipse College Showcase Memorial Day weekend. In the first two, Madrid took first in the Nomads College Showcase and 2nd in the Premier flight of the California Cup.

The Madrid u18 girls will also take place in the Eclipse College Showcase on Memorial Day weekend.

Girls u16 Get Placed in "Premier Flight" of California Cup.
Multiple Madrid teams will be participating in the US Club California Cup in the month of April. The girls u16 were seeded in the top 8 and placed in the Premier flight of the tournament. For more information on the tournament go to: http://www.t7sports.com/2005/B101223.htm


Madrid Girls U16 Win Nomads!!!
Atletico Madrid, USA girls under 16 soccer team won the Nomads College Showcase this past weekend in San Diego. The team went 5-0 overall and scored 13 goals while only giving up 1. Andrea Zimkowski (St. Joseph HS) scored 4 goals during the weekend including both goals in the final. Karlee Owens (Arroyo Grande HS) had 3 goals for the weekend.

Madrid defeated United Onyz (Oregon) 2-0, Odyssey Red 91 (Fresno) 1-0, Flagstaff 91 Red Flash (Arizona) 6-1, Bangu Tsunami (Minnesota) 2-0 and in the finals defeated TVSA Hawks 2-0.


Girls 1988 win AC Alliance Tournament Championship.
The Madrid G88's played only two games but won the AC Alliance Tournament. Erin Miller (Atascadero HS) and Colleen Dugan (Santa Ynez HS) led the way by scoring most of the teams goals. The team beat the La Mirada Eagles 3-2 and then defeated Bakersfield Brigade 3-0 in the Semi Finals. The team Madrid was set to play in the finals had to forefit.


Congratulations to the Madrid Boy's that made all league in High School. Rosario Bras (Madrid B91) took the top boy's honor by being named as the Pac 7 Offensive Player of the Year. Read More

Congratulations Boys 1989!
The Madrid Boys 1989 have been accepted to participate in the Nomads College Showcase in San Diego. The tournament runs from March 23rd thru the 25th. Good luck guys!


Madrid Players Contribute In Major Ways In High School CIF Wins:
St. Joseph High School won their 3rd CIF game in a row on Tuesday 2-1 (overtime) against La Canada. Andrea Zimkowski (Madrid 90 Premier) scored the goal that tied the game at 1-1 on a 40 yard free kick and assisted the game winning goal in the sudden death overtime. The sophomore Zimkowski is leading St. Joseph in scoring for the second season in a row.

Cabrillo High School won their 2nd round CIF game over Sultana 3-0. Karissa Robertson (Madrid 88 Premier) continued her scoring spree by putting two in the back of the net. Karissa now has 108 career goals at Cabrillo with 37 and counting in her senior year. The 3rd goal was scored by Lane Majors (Madrid 90 Premier).

Madrid Premier Girls 90 Get Accepted To Nomads College Showcase!
The Madrid Premier Girls 90's got accepted to participate in the 2007 Nomads College Showcase in San Diego March 30-April 1st. The draw for the tournament will take place two weeks prior. Good luck ladies!

3 Madrid G88 Players Sign Letter of Intent!

Karissa Robertson, Ashton Swiacki and Jani Carmona each signed their National Letters of Intent to play college soccer at the University of Hawaii at Hilo on Feb. 7. Congratulations girls and good luck!



January:

The Madrid Girls 1995, coached by Rob Cantrell, took 2nd place in the Condors Classic. The team won 3 games and lost two, both to the same team. The finals were 0-2.


The Madrid Girls 1992, coached by Mark Jones, took 2nd place in the Condors Classic. The team ended with a 3-1 record good enough for 2nd behind FCSB's 3-0-1 mark. The tournament ran a points format so the 1 loss pushed Madrid into 2nd place. Madrid did defeat local teams SMISO Havoc and SMISO Crush in route to 2nd place.

Atletico Madrid Boys Under 13 Soccer Team Progresses to Finals at SMISO Soccerfest Tournament
The Boys Atletico Madrid Under 13 Soccer Team proceeded to the finals in the SMISO Soccerfest Tournament this past weekend. They reached the finals in the Silver Flight by winning their first game with Real Santa Barbara with a score of 3-1. They tied their second game with Conejo Valley United SC CVU with a score of 2-2. They played Riverplate for the 3rd game and won 2-1 earning them 1st in their flight and a place in the finals. The boys played excellent team ball and all contributed to strong matches all the way to the finals. In the final game they were again matched up with Riverplate. In the final game they fell to Riverplate with a 2-1 score and took 2nd place in their bracket. The team is coached and trained by Mark Jones and Stephen Nichols.


The Atletico Madrid USA Girls U11 Gold Team took 1st in the SMISO Winter Classic.
The girls stepped up and out scored their opponents 13-4 in 4 games. They took SLO Fire U11 down 3-0. The met up with a bit of a challenge against the Condors U-11, winning 4-2. On Sunday, the ladies defeated the Orcutt All-star team 3-1 in the semi-final. And finally they met up with the Cherif Soccer Academy's Blitz U11 in the Championship. They defeated the Blitz with an impressive 3-1 victory.

Next up for these girls is the Condor Classic in January and State Cup in February, where they have been placed in an exciting bracket against Silver and Silver Elite teams from the Coast League.

In the Spring, the team will start entering several tournaments as they prepare to also play in the Coast League in the Fall.


Atletico Teams Dominate At SMISO Cool Classic!
Atletico Madrid, USA Soccer Club won two age brackets and took 2nd in another at the SMISO Cool Summer Classic. The U18 and U14 girls teams won the tournament while the u15 boys team played up in the u16 bracket and took second.

The u18 girls defeated Apple Valley Storm 1-0 and SMISO Elite 5-0 then tied Real California 0-0 in pool play. In the semi-finals, Madrid defeated Placer Soccer Academy in penalty kicks and then defeated Real California 2-0 in the finals. The u18's won the tournament without giving up a goal while scoring 8.

The u14 girls defeated Newark Freedom 5-1, Paso Robles United 2-0, SLO Fire 5-0 and then defeated Newark Freedom 3-2 in the finals.

The u15 boys played up in the u16 bracket and finished 2nd place. The teams results were a 9-0 win over Apple Valley Storm, a 3-3 tie v.s. Deportivo San Juan and two losses to Chivas USA Jrs.


Rookie Madrid teams show well at FCSB Summer Cup!
Madrid girls 1995 and boys 1993 teams, coached by Rob Cantrell, played in their first tournament as Atletico Madrid at the FCSB Summer Cup. The girls 1995 took the championship while the boys 1993 lost in the semi-finals. The girls 1995 tied Crown City United 1-1 and then posted three straight wins over Real California (3-1), SLO Fire (3-0) and Corona United (3-0). The boys 1993 team tied Apex 1-1, and then lost 0-1 to Rovers and 1-3 to SM River Plate in the semi-finals. Congratulations to both teams!
