Rob Cantrell
Rob started playing soccer on the Central Coast in 1975 at the age of 4. He played Goal Keeper and was a member of the ODP Western Region Pool from 1984-1988. He graduated from St. Joseph High School, where he played Varsity for 3 years.
After graduating High School in 1989, he went to play for Allan Hancock College. His playing career was cut short when he suffered a knee injury during the Pre-season. Rob graduated from Allan Hancock with and AA degree in Music. Continuing his studies, Rob is currently working on his Bachelor's degree in English from Chapman University.
In 2005 he co-founded the Advantage Soccer Academy based out of Santa Ynez, CA.
Rob has coached several club and recreational teams (U6-U19). He coached the Boys Varsity at Bishop Diego High School in Santa Barbara for 3 years. He is now the Girls Varsity Coach at Santa Ynez High School.
Rob holds the USSF National "D" License, the AYSO Advanced National Coaching badge, and AAF/CIF Advanced Certificate. Cantrell has been a member of the NSCAA for 7 years.
Rob is currently the head coach of the Madrid Black G96 South team as well as for Madrid Premier G95.

Played Club soccer for SLO Fire then FCSB in the Coast Soccer League. He was a 3 year varsity starter at Atascadero High School where he was named to the NSCAA All Far West team as well as the NSCAA All America team. Todd was a 3x first team all league player and 2 x all cif player. He attended and played soccer at Cal Poly for 3 years under an athletic scholarship. He also plays for the PDL team Bakersfield Brigade. He has the USSF "E" coaching license and is training the Premier Girls 1990 team.
Nelson Cestoni, JR
Nelson is the youngest member of our staff. As of 2005 he was just 18 years old but well beyond his age is knowledge for the game of soccer. Nelson was a player in the Atletico Madrid system where he played in the Coast Premier league for the 1986 team coached by Joe Dugan. From 2003-2005 he played on the Atascadero High School Varsity under coach Travis Clarke. At AHS Cestoni was named to the All Pac 5 team 3 times (2 first team appearances) and to the All San Luis Obispo County First Team 3x. Cestoni also won the "Best Midfielder" award at AHS all three years he played.
Nelson works for Team Soccer Direct Summer Camps as well as One Premier Soccer Schools as a demonstrator. Nelson has worked camps in Santa Maria, Arroyo Grande, Templeton and Hilo, Hawaii.
Cestoni holds an NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma as well as the USSF "E" License. Nelson is the Head Coach of the Boys 1990 team as well as the Boys 1993 AYSA Black team.
Travis E. Clarke, tatownsoccer@aol.com, Guest Coach/Trainer
Travis played club for the San Luis Obispo Soccer Club Flying Tomatoes in the mid 1990's as well as 3 ½ years of varsity soccer at Atascadero High School. During his playing time at Atascadero, Travis scored 36 goals while playing under four different coaches including current University of Arizona Women's coach Dan Tobias.
After high school, Travis joined the Navy where he continued to play competitive soccer for both the Naval Station, San Diego varsity team as well as the ALL-Navy (West Coast) team. While serving in the Navy, Travis got the opportunity to play soccer in over 13 countries including; Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, U.A.E., Bahrain, Kuwait, Eritria, Jordan, and Australia.
After his honorable release from active duty, Travis enrolled at Allan Hancock College where he played soccer for the Bulldogs 1999 Western Conference Championship team. He graduated from Cal Poly (SLO) with a BA in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.
Travis's coaching experience includes; NCFC Juvunes (U14), SLOSC Roadrunners (U18), A-Town Dynasty (PRRSL Premier), Atascadero High School Boys Varsity, Santa Barbara City College, Allan Hancock College and the California Legends. While with the Cal Legends he worked and learned under head coach Cam Camarena. Travis coached and trained teams in all age groups and got experience coaching in the Coast Soccer League's Gold and Premier Divisions. One player trained by Travis and Cam was former UCLA and Chivas USA (MLS) midfielder Aaron Lopez. Clarke also coached the 2005 Cal South Women's State team to a Western Regional Championship by defeating Cal North, Utah and Arizona.
While a trainer and coach with Madrid, Clarke coached the girls 1990 and 1988 teams. Both of these teams have progressed to the top levels of Cal South and Western Region soccer.
Clarke is currently a Regional Director for Team Soccer Direct Youth Camps and a Tactical Director for One Premier Soccer Schools and Coerver Coaching Schools in Southern California. He instructs coaching education courses for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, the United States Soccer Federation and Cal South and was certified as a USSF Grade "8" referee. He holds the USSF National Youth License, the AAF/CIF Advanced Certificate as well as the NSCAA Premier Diploma and plans on taking part in the NSCAA Master Coaching Program set to begin next year.
Travis is currently the Head Women's Soccer Coach at the University of Hawaii-Hilo.
Kim Conlan
Kim played her club soccer for the California Legends and So. Cal United in the Coast Premier League. Kim was named as the Atascadero High School MVP in 2004. Kim is currently attending UC Irvine where she continues to play soccer for the Anteaters. Kim works for the clubs "Youth Academy" program when she is in town.
Mark Jones
Mark Jones, a native of Northern California, played his college soccer for Cal Poly (SLO). While at CPSU he has named to the Big West 1st team and was CPSU's leading goal scorer his freshman year. Mark played premier club growing up in Cal North and was a member of the ODP Regional Pool. Mark currently holds the USSF National "D" coaching license. In 2007 his Girls under 14 Madrid team won the US Club California Cup with an overall record of 5-0.
Mark works for Catalyst Soccer Club Camps and at various camps throughout the summer (Santa Clara Camp, Stanford Camp). He is currently a volunteer assistant coach for the men's program at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Mark is currently the head coach of the Madrid Premier B93 and G92 teams.

Stephen is a trainer for the Madrid teams. He has helped Travis train several top level girls teams as well Joe's G88 Black team and has helped Mark with the Boys u13's. Stephen played two years of varsity soccer at Atascadero High School and one season for Allan Hancock College as a starter. He currently holds the USSF National "D" coaching license.
Steve has trained under Joe Pandosh and Travis Clarke (UH Hilo Women's Soccer Coach) in all areas of technical and tactical development of individuals and teams.
Steve is currently a trainer for the Madrid Premier G90 team where he helped the team win the 2007 Nomads College Showcase. He also assists Mark Jones with the Madrid Premier 93 team.
Mario Perez, mperez@cacsb.com
Mario Perez is a native to San Luis Obispo County. He has been the Head Coach for San Luis Obispo Soccer Club Fury (1994 - 1999), St. Joseph High School Boys JV (1997 - 1998), San Luis Obispo Soccer Club (1999 - 2002), San Luis Obispo Soccer Club Fire (2004 - 2005), and Central Coast United/SLOSC United (1998 - 2005). Further, Mario has been the Head Coach for Girls Varsity Soccer at Templeton High School since 2002. Mario is currently the Director of Coaches for Atascadero Youth Soccer Association and works as a staff member for the Atascadero Youth Academy and Team Soccer Direct Summer Camps. Mario holds a USSF "D" License, as well as NSCAA Regional, Advanced Regional, National Youth, and Level 1 Goalkeeper Diplomas. He also is currently certified by American Red Cross in CPR and First Aid.
Mario joined Atletico Madrid in April 2005. Mario is the Head coach of the Girls 1991 team as well as the Girls 1995 AYSA Black team.
Brian Reed
Brian is a former Cal Poly standout player beginning his first year as a coach for the Madrid Coaching staff. A Fullerton native, Reed was a three year CPSU starter. During that stint, Reed was a two-year captain and All-Big West Conference First-Team selection. Prior to arriving at Cal Poly in '99, Reed was a C.I.F. Defensive player of the year in Southern California, as well as a First-team All-League Selection and Regional ODP player. Brian holds the USSF National "D" coaching license.
Brian works for Catalyst Soccer Club Camps and at various camps throughout the summer. He is currently an assistant coach for the men's program at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He currently is the trainer for the Madrid Premier G88 team.
P.J. Woolridge, pwoolrid@calpoly.edu
PJ was a four-year starter for the Cal Poly men's squad from 1995-98. Playing the majority of his games at sweeper, Woolridge helped lead Cal Poly to the Division I men's soccer playoffs in his first year in 1995 and earned All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first-team honors in 1996 and 1998. Woolridge still holds school records for career matches played (72), career matches started (72) and game-winning goals in a season (four in 1995). He graduated from Cal Poly in 2000 with a degree in psychology.
The San Jose native is a 1995 graduate of Leland High School in San Jose. Woolridge lettered four times in soccer as a midfielder and forward, serving as team captain two seasons. His four teams posted a combined 70-15-5 record and Woolridge was named All-City four times and All-Santa Clara County twice as he scored 55 goals and 68 assists in his prep career. He also was a two-time High School All-American (1994, 1995) and played on the Youth National Team in 1991 and 1993.
PJ is currently coaching the head coach of the boys 1989 team and conducts private training sessions for members of the club.
PJ currently serves as an advisor at the Board of Director meetings each month.
